If sustainability and being as eco-friendly at home as possible is something you care deeply about, you may be able to apply for the Government funded Green Homes Grant.
Whether you’re a homeowner or a landlord, you can apply for the grant to help towards the cost of installing energy efficient improvements to your home. This could include installing insulation or low carbon heating.
The scheme will only last until 31 March 2021, which is also the date the improvements will need to be made by, so time is limited to take advantage of this scheme.
How Much Can You Get?
Vouchers cover two thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum amount of £5,000.
However, if you, or someone in your household, receive certain benefits you may be eligible for a voucher covering 100% of the cost of the improvements up to a total of £10,000.
Are You Eligible?
You may be eligible if you live in England and:
- you own your own home (including long-leaseholders and shared ownership)
- you own your own park home on a residential site (including Gypsy and Traveller sites)
- you’re a residential landlord in the private or social rented sector (including local authorities and housing associations)
You cannot get the Green Homes Grant for newly built homes which have not been previously occupied.
Check if you’re eligible for the Green Homes Grant on the Government website.
